Nurse Assistant- Per Diem

The Daughters of Charity is private residence for the Daughters of Charity. Independent, assisted and memory care is available for the retired Sisters of the Daughters of Charity. We are located in Menands, NY, in a wonderful parklike setting. Vehicle parking is on site. We are looking for compassionate, team oriented individuals to join us as a Nurse Assistants. We have open positions for per diems on all shifts. Per Diem status may allow the flexibility that you wish in your life.

The Nurse Assistant is an integral part of our group and will assist with the care of our Sisters. We are seeking a caring individuals who enjoy working with an older population. Prior certification as a Nurse Assistant, HHA, or Medication Technician is needed.

Differentials available- 1st shift, Monday-Friday, $3.00/ hour more

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

The successful candidates will:

• Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with each Sister
• Assist with the provision of patient care, complying with the established standards of care and the following of defined procedures.
• Assist with the orientation of newly hired nurse assistants.
• Work with other staff members to achieve departmental goals and maintain good morale and teamwork
• React positively to change and handle other tasks as assigned
• Maintain professional discretion and confidentiality in all areas
• Be proactive; follow through with changes
• Participate in/on committees as needed
• Provide leadership through example and sharing of knowledge with others
• have a knowledge of and an ability to apply the concepts of Person Respected Care
• Complete yearly required training both internally and externally
• Other tasks as needed
