The Daughters of Charity Ministries is a retirement home for the Sisters of the Daughters of Charity. We are located in Menands, NY in a wonderful, parklike setting. Vehicle parking is on site. We provide three levels of care- independent, assisted and memory care in a person respected care environment.

We have an opening for a full time porter. This position reports to our Facilities Director and is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in connection with the operation of the interior and exterior of the buildings and grounds. Some responsibilities include:

• experience in maintenance tasks including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting.
• removal of snow from porches, doorways and walkways. Apply ice melt where needed.
• maintain general upkeep of assigned areas.
• maintain the interior including the sweeping, mopping and waxing of floors
• cleaning and vacuuming of interior furnishings
• washing windows, counters, walls and woodwork
• clean and maintain stairwells and elevators
• clean and maintain all public areas
• remove trash
• perform commercial laundry tasks

This individual is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and will participate in proactive team efforts to achieve facility and department goals. This position is benefits eligible. This individual must have a clean, valid NYS Driver's License.
